A new comparison study shows EASOTIC® (hydrocortisone aceponate, miconazole nitrate, gentamicin sulfate) Otic Suspension for Dogs provides fast relief from signs of otitis externa in dogs.3


Comparison of the efficacy of a gentamicin, miconazole and hydrocortisone aceponate formulation and a florfenicol, terbinafine and mometasone furoate formulation in the treatment of canine otitis externa with a focus on onset of action.3 Eighty-six dogs with acute, nonparasitic, otitis externa were included. Forty-one dogs were randomly assigned to receive Easotic (gentamicin, miconazole and hydrocortisone aceponate; Virbac) and 39 dogs received Claro (florfenicol, terbinafine and mometasone furoate; Elanco Animal Health), as per label instructions. Veterinarians evaluated these dogs before treatment, and on days 2, 7 and 28.

Do not use in dogs with known tympanic membrane (ear drum) perforation. The safe use of EASOTIC Otic Suspension in dogs used for breeding purposes has not been evaluated. Do not administer orally.
